What are you without pain?

"Who am I, without pain?" "Who will I be?" These are two of the most common, but rarely spoken-out-loud questions that people have when it comes to healing their chronic pain.

If you've been living with chronic pain, chances are, your entire life has revolved around it for the past couple years (if not decades). Maybe you've forgotten what life looks like without pain?

Or maybe you remember what life looked like without pain and you do not want to go back there.

Changing such a huge part of your life can be both parts exciting and terrifying. Of course you no longer want to live in pain, but what do you want to live like? It creates an identity crisis.

WHO do you want to be WHEN you no longer have chronic pain?

What do you want to look like? What do you want to act like? Be like? Feel like? Think like? What do you want to do? Who do you want to be? Such questions can get overwhelming, so we shy away from answering them.

The trouble with doing that is that while we have a very clear idea of what we want to move away from, we have no idea where we're going. And without a clear idea of what we want to move towards, you won't be able to attract the kind of situations, experiences, people, relationships, etc. that you want.

Remember that like attracts like (The Law of Attraction), so not only is it important to have a clear vision of your Future Self, but to also become that person in your mind as much as you can.

So if on some days you're feeling great and you feel like you can do so many things, you will attract experiences into your life that also tell you that you do indeed feel great and can do a great many things. And if one other days you don't feel great and feel like there's nothing you can do that will be good enough for others, you will ALSO attract situations that seem to prove this to you.

So you'll end up getting mixed messages about who you are. So the sooner you get clear on who you want to be (and get as detailed as you can - the more specific the better!), the sooner you'll start attracting circumstances and people into your life who support your vision of Future You.

To help you get clear on WHO you want to become, I put together this audio recording for you  (you can also click the yellow button below). I used this exact same recording myself when I was still trying to figure out who I wanted to become and what I wanted to do with my business/life/career/relationship.

For those of you who want to hear more on creating your Future Self, I recommend listening to Episode 2 of The Love Yourself Podcast. Hope you enjoy!
