In today’s episode, I talk about how pain is real and valid, whether it’s acute or chronic, and how when we treat it, we want to treat it as holistically as possible. But sometimes, finding and choosing the right treatment amongst all the what-if and should-I and what-do-I-do questions can be difficult. So be sure to listen/read to the end where I share a secret for reducing this anxiety that helped me tremendously.

First of all, every single one of our pain experiences is completely real and valid. Pain is an indication of something in our mind, body or spirit being misaligned. By validating your pain, you can start uncovering the root cause of misalignment and understanding what healing your soul or spirit really wants.

What do I mean by treating pain holistically? Holistically means that we are looking at it from all kinds of perspectives. Here’s just a few examples:

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Psychological
  • Spiritual
  • Cultural
  • Social
  • Environmental

And I don’t just mean this for professionals who work with patients or clients living with chronic pain…I also mean, “we,” those of us who are living with pain. 

For many of us, we tend to turn to experts or outside people for help – it’s what we’re taught. But by constantly looking to others for answers and direction, we’re not looking within ourselves to find the solution that is most aligned.

We find ourselves getting more and more anxious, more and more stressed about our condition. I likened this anxiety to having a ton of deafeningly noisy birds circling around over my head, making it hard for me to think straight. Do you ever feel like this? Would you mind sharing your experience and how you deal with it? 

So what can we do? To calm down this noise, be sure to get into alignment, and then do whatever you want. Drop into your Future Self and ask what future you would do.

Other healers and professionals and whoever else you turn to for advice or help or suggestions or instructions - they’re just guides for you. Guides whose opinions you can decide to agree with to disagree with.  You are your ultimate holistic healer.

It’s important for you to find someone who works well with you and where you're at in your life.

So today, we talked about how our experience of pain is completely real and totally valid, and in fact, it may be a clue as to what deeper healing needs to take place. We also talked about how in treating pain, we have to look at it holistically, considering the mind, body, and spirit in order to truly heal it and release our body’s need to manifest it. Then we went into how sometimes, because there are so many options and opinions and instructions out there, we can feel very anxious and stressed out, and how we can turn to Future Self for help.
